Salome’s first career had nothing to do with technology. She enrolled in Technology & Engineering expecting to pick up a practical skill — she didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as she did.

Programming fundamentals were slow going at first. What changed things was the shift into systems design: seeing how small, well-structured pieces fit together into something bigger felt less like homework and more like solving a puzzle.

Her capstone project — built from scratch over one term — became the centerpiece of the portfolio that got her first engineering role.
